Join Mrs. Brittney for a little taste of fall! We're taking our School of Caroline cooking class outdoors for a hands-on day of apples, spices, and sensory fun.
Our little chefs will kick things off with an apple taste test, comparing different varieties and discovering where apples come from, what makes each one unique, and how we use our five senses to explore food. We'll complete a fun apple worksheet along the way, learning to describe the flavors, textures, colors, and aromas of our favorite fall fruit.
Then it's time to get cooking! A few little helpers will have the chance to use our fun apple-peeling machine before Mrs. Brittney demonstrates how to make homemade applesauce. Each child will get their own cooked apple to mash, season with their choice of spices, and turn into a delicious creation of their own.
While we enjoy our applesauce, graham cracker bunnies, and apple cider, we'll read Apple Pie Around the World and chat about the story. We'll wrap up with a playful sensory challenge, putting our noses to the test with an apple and spice sniffing game!
